Renewable Energy Project

Earsdon Biomass Project

An ambtiious project to bring renewable energy to our grade II listed church has been finally realised. More than two years in planning, St. Alban's has been able to build a new boiler house behind the Eccles Hall which is also a grade II listed building. The new bespoke building now houses a 100 Kw boiler which can run on wood pellets or woodchip fuel. The new boiler is connected to the church and the hall via a highly insulated underground pipe.

We have also installed new radiators in St. Alban's Church and we are delighted to report that the building is lovely and warm for our services. In time, the heat will provide warmth to the fabric of the building which is a positive heritage outcome given that we have had problems with flakey paint in recent years.

We have taken out a £60,000 loan to complete our project and fundraising is on going. If you would like to support us, then please E-mail us via this website.
